Our journey began in 2022, with a singular vision: to provide exceptional care and support to individuals with disabilities. Founded by an experienced Registered Nurse, we started as a beacon of hope for one client. Today, we’ve grown to a small team who are incredibility passionate and committed to changing lives. We believe that everyone deserves to lead a fulfilling life, regardless of their abilities. Meet Our Director: Sarah Whiteley

 

Sarah brings a wealth of experience and expertise to her role as Director at Nivada Care. With a background as a Registered Nurse spanning various healthcare settings including Mental Health ICU, COVID-19 Facilities, Aged Care Ward, Dementia Ward, and Community Nursing, she has honed her skills over the past 8 years in the disability sector.

Sarah’s dedication to providing high-quality care is evident in her extensive experience caring for individuals with complex needs. She is proficient in managing conditions such as PEG and NG Tubes, Insulin Management, Weight Management, Incontinence, Catheter Care, Central Lines, Chronic and Acute Wound Care, as well as Palliative Care.

Beyond her clinical expertise, Sarah has cultivated numerous connections within multidisciplinary teams and allied health professionals in the community, ensuring seamless collaboration and holistic care for clients.

In her current role, Sarah takes a hands-on approach to managing the company, overseeing day-to-day operations and fostering open communication with participants and staff. She actively contributes to NDIS reviews, leveraging her skills in report writing, making recommendations, and advocating for the best interests of clients.

Sarah’s dedication, experience, and leadership play a vital role in driving Nivada Care’s mission to deliver exceptional support and enhance the lives of those we serve.

Meet Our Nurses:

CATHY

Cathy is a highly skilled Clinical Nurse Specialist with extensive experience in monitoring and assessing both chronic and acute respiratory patients.

Cathy collaborates with consultants and GPs to seek advice and provide detailed handovers to medical teams.

Her dedication to improving patient outcomes and advancing community nursing practices highlights her commitment to exceptional care and professional development.

FUN FACT: Cathy won ‘Dream Team Award’ presented by Nursing and Midwifery Recognition Awards 🏅

TORI

Tori began her career as an Assistant in Nursing (AIN) in an in-patient rehab facility for a 1.5 years, then transitioned to supporting individuals in a group disability home for another 1.5 years. Following that Tori spent 2 years as a support worker in- home and has recently graduated her Enrolled Nursing Diploma. Her specialisation includes manual handling and providing personalised care for individuals with cerebral palsy and intellectual disabilities.

FUN FACT: Tori has a competitive streak and loves a good win at Mario Kart 🚘 

HARMONY

Harmony has devoted over 10 years to the healthcare industry, starting her journey off with working as an Assistant in Nursing (AIN) in the hospital system, followed by 9 years dedicated to pathology.

In 2023, she successfully completed her Bachelor of Nursing degree to further enhance her skills and knowledge in the field. Harmony is currently engage in diabetes management and utilising her expertise to provide comprehensive care and support to individuals with this condition. 

FUN FACT: Harmony recently celebrated her marriage 👰‍♀️

SIMA

Sima has worked in the healthcare field for over 5 years, serving as a Registered Nurse in both hospital and community nurse settings.

Before she transitioned to nursing, Sima spent nearly 7 years as a support worker, predominately in Aged Care environments.

Sima has also received specialised training in Dementia care.

FUN FACT: Sima’s favourite food is fried noodles! 🍜

Meet Our Support Workers:

TAYAH

Tayah brings her caring and positive nature to each shift, always striving to bring a smile to her participant’s face. With over 2.5 years of experience working with children with autism and those on the spectrum, and two years supporting one special little boy, Tayah is dedicated to making a difference and is currently studying her Bachelor of Occupational Therapy at Western Sydney University. She’s passionate about working with participants with cerebral palsy, autism, and intellectual disabilities, offering support with compassion and professionalism.

FUN FACT: Tayah is a big Harry Potter Fan  

NARA

Nara has worked for over 7 years within the health sector, starting her journey in a Nursing Home providing support for 3 years, assisting elderly clients with Dementia, Alzheimer’s, and additional care requirements. Following this, she spent a year as an Assistant in Nursing (AIN) at Liverpool Hospital, where she would support a diverse range of clients and aided nurses and doctors in their duties. Nara than transitioned to In-Home Care, where she has been assisting clients with a range of conditions, including Alzheimer’s, Dementia, Autism, and various Intellectual Disabilities.

FUN FACT: Nara Loves a good Caramel Latte ☕️

EMMA

Emma has been a support worker for the past 3 years and assisting individuals with various disabilities such as Cerebral Palsy, Intellectual Disabilities, and Prader-Willi Syndrome. She possesses a strong ability to connect with non-verbal participants and always ensuring their inclusion and sense of belonging. Emma is currently pursuing Bachelor of Nursing at the University of Wollongong.

FUN FACT: Emma has been skydiving over the Whitsundays! 🪂

ELI

Eli has been a support worker for the past year and has provided assistance to individuals dealing with a range of disabilities including Cerebral Palsy, Intellectual Disabilities, Autism, and Prader- Willi Syndrome. His strongest skills lies in Eli’s ability to connect with a diverse range of individuals. Eli’s is currently studying Bachelor of Pre-Medicine, Science & Health at the University of Wollongong.

FUN FACT: Eli is a Twin 👨‍👧

OLIVIA

Olivia has been a support worker for over a year, her strong skill is working with children as she prides herself on being professional, reliable, and bringing a fun approach to her work. Olivia’s role includes assisting with their personal care, domestic duties, and facilitating community engagement for participants.

FUN FACT: Olivia loves to bake in her spare time, her favourite thing to bake are cookies! 🍪

CHANTAL

Chantal brings over 10 years of experience in customer service and hospitality, with a strong foundation in team leadership and communication. Chantal is passionate about providing person-centred care and building genuine connections with participants and their families. She is currently studying a Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) at TAFE Illawarra to further strengthen her knowledge and skills in the sector.

FUN FACT: Chantal can make Balloon Animals 🎈

CHANEL

Chanel has extensive experience working with children and supporting their individual needs. She spent over a year as a sports coach with Ready Steady Go Kids, teaching gross motor skills and fostering early learning for children aged 18 months to 5 years. During this time, Chanel developed a strong ability to adapt activities to suit different abilities, ensuring every child could participate and thrive.

FUN FACT: Chanel did modelling in Poland when she was younger 🌏

BROOKE

Brooke is a compassionate support worker currently completing her Diploma of Nursing (Enrolled Nurse). She has experience supporting individuals with Autism, non-verbal communication, and Cerebral Palsy (CP) and is trained in manual handling.

With a background in education and disability support, Brooke is dedicated to providing safe, person-centred care that empowers participants to live independently.
